Admissions Notice 2025/2026

Under the provisions of the Education (Admission to Schools) Act 2018, all schools are required to have drafted admissions policies in line with the provisions of the act.

Admissions Policy

This Admission Policy complies with the requirements of the Education Act 1998, the Education (Admission to Schools) Act 2018 and the Equal Status Act 2000.

School Enrolment

We are currently accepting applications. Completed enrolment applications must be returned to Knockanes N.S.

Child Safeguarding Statement & Risk Assessment

A written assessment setting out the areas of risk identified and the school's procedures for managing those risks is included with the Child Safeguarding  Statement.

Annual Review of Child Safeguarding Statement 2023/24

The review must be completed every year or as soon as practicable after there has been a material change in any matter to which the Child Safeguarding Statement refers.

Code of Behaviour & Anti-Bullying Policy

The Code of Behaviour of Knockanes NS has been developed in accordance with the Developing a Code of Behaviour: Guidelines for Schools.

Annual Review of Anti-Bullying Policy

This policy statement was adapted to the current format in accordance with the guidelines of the Primary Professional Development Service.

Through our SPHE program we wish to assist children develop feelings of self-worth and self-confidence while encouraging their ability to relate to others in a positive way.

PE Policy

Knockanes N.S. recognises that P.E. education is part of a balanced curriculum which aims to develop the whole spectrum of the child’s intelligence.

Assessment Policy

The core of the policy is that all children should experience success at school.  This policy endeavours to identify at the earliest possible opportunity, children who may have learning difficulties and put in place a school response to their needs.  An effective assessment policy is central to this core objective.

'Stay Safe' Letter for Parents

The aim of the “Stay Safe” programme is to teach children personal safety skills so they can look after themselves in situations which could be upsetting or dangerous.

This procedure is designed to provide an open and clearly defined process to facilitate parents/legal guardians in raising concerns about their own child/children in an agreed, fair and transparent manner.

Improvement Plan

School self-evaluation is a collaborative, inclusive, and reflective process of internal school review. An evidence-based approach, it involves gathering information from a range of sources, and then making judgements. All of this with a view to bringing about improvements in pupils’/students’ learning .

Internet Acceptable Use Policy

Educationalists believe in the benefits of curriculum-based internet use. The purpose of the Internet
Acceptable Usage Policy is to ensure that pupils will benefit from learning opportunities offered by the
school’s internet resources, and will be protected from harmful and illegal use of the Internet.
